The Malta Association of Physiotherapists is pleased to be officially affiliated to the Malta Federation of Professional Associations following a resolution by the members of the Malta Association of Physiotherapists at the Council Meeting held on 21st November 2008. The Malta Association of Physiotherapists was successful in fulfilling the criteria to affiliate with the Malta Federation of Professional Associations.

The Malta Association of Physiotherapists was officially recognised to be a member of the Malta Federation of Professional Associations on the 12th of May, 2009 and the Administrative Committee members of the Malta Association of Physiotherapists were introduced to the Malta Federation of Professional Associations Council on the 9th of June, 2009.

The Malta Association of Physiotherapists is represented on the Council of the Malta Federation of Professional Associations by John Xerri de Caro – President and Victor Grixti – Financial Controller.

Ben Rizzo, President Malta Federation of Professional Associations said “The Federation is always trying to be of benefit to all professionals in Malta and we are working to represent as many professionals in Malta. We are very happy and proud that the MAP had decided to join our forces making it the 14th professional organisation member of the Federation of Professional Associations.”

John Xerri de Caro, President of the Malta Association of Physiotherapists expressed his satisfaction with respect to the affiliation by the Malta Association of Physiotherapists.
“This is a significant step in establishing physiotherapy amongst the leading professions in Malta. The Malta Federation of Professional Associations’ affiliation in the EU group for Liberal professionals further signifies the importance of physiotherapy in its role as an autonomous profession serving its members and clients. Through the Malta Federation of Professional Associations the Malta Association of Physiotherapists shall voice its opinion and concerns particularly in the defence of the professional title. As an association the Malta Association of Physiotherapists is committed in developing and enhancing the professional status of its members particularly through Continuous Professional Development activities.”
